Pumpkin is a large orange squash that is filled with large seeds. Itís very popular throughout the United States during the fall season. Aside from its obvious cooking integrity, pumpkins play a large role in human activities such as: growing extremely large pumpkins, carving jack-o-lanterns, and decorating mantles.
Pumpkin is by far the most desirable squash, and probably the greatest vegetable(technically, fruit) as well. Pumpkinís most common manifestation is the pumpkin pie, but contributes exceptionally well to soups, pancakes, and ravioli. It is extremely high in vitamin A, which will make the consumer turn orange if too much is ingested. Pumpkin can often be a bit messy and time consuming to prepare, but it easily bought in a can if sufficient time isnít available.
Pumpkin became an official snack on April 21st 2012.
